چکیده

We measured the local magnetic response of a niobium thin film by applying millitesla-scale AC field using micron-scale coil and detecting with pickup loop in scanning superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) susceptometry measurement. Near film's critical temperature, we observed step-like nonlinear dissipative due to dynamics small number vortex-antivortex pairs induced applied field. modeled measurement combined two-dimensional London-Maxwell time-dependent Ginzburg-Landau approach, allowing us construct detailed real-space picture vortex motion causing response. This work pushes SQUID superconductors beyond regime linear lays foundation for microscopic studies pinning devices more exotic materials systems.

Evidence for a nodal energy gap in the iron-pnictide superconductor LaFePO from penetration depth measurements by scanning SQUID susceptometry.

We measure changes in the penetration depth lambda of the T_{c} approximately 6 K superconductor LaFePO. In the process, scanning SQUID susceptometry is demonstrated as a technique for accurately measuring local temperature-dependent changes in lambda, ideal for studying early or difficult-to-grow materials. lambda is found to vary linearly with temperatures from 0.36 to approximately 2 K, with...

Analysis of low-field isotropic vortex glass containing vortex groups in YBa2Cu3O7−x thin films visualized by scanning SQUID microscopy

The glass-like vortex distribution in pulsed laser deposited YBa2Cu3O(7-x) thin films is observed by scanning superconducting quantum interference device microscopy and analysed for ordering after cooling in magnetic fields significantly smaller than the Earth's field. Autocorrelation calculations on this distribution show a weak short-range positional order, while Delaunay triangulation shows ...

Scanning Squid Microscopy

The scanning SQUID microscope (SSM) is a powerful tool for imaging magnetic fields above sample surfaces. It has the advantage of high sensitivity and bandwidth and the disadvantages of relatively modest spatial resolution and the requirement of a cooled SQUID sensor. We describe the various implementations of this type of instrument and discuss a number of applications, including magnetic imag...
